Now that my family no longer has little children of an age that gives Christmas dinners that extra magic, Thanksgiving has actually become my favorite family holiday. There is no rushing around shopping…no high expectations of what the celebration is going to be. It’s just family coming together and enjoying each other..and now that my parents are in their later years, each one of those Thanksgivings takes on special meaning because we don’t know how many more we will have when we will all be together. So I am really grateful for having my whole family together, all still in good health, laughing and eating the traditional Thanksgiving turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberries, and pumpkin pie, which is also my favorite meal….another reason to give thanks.
