Westminster Men’s Basketball In Review

The 2012-13 Westminster College Blue Jays Men’s Basketball team finished their season after tying for second place in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) and advancing to the SLIAC Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky. The Blue Jays fell to Eureka College during the semifinal game, ending their season and finishing 19-7 overall. Westminster is now 17-13 all-time in tournament play with 16 tournament appearances.

Coach Matt Mitchell won his 200th career game at Westminster with an 82-54 win over Blackburn College on January 19, 2013. He was named SLIAC Co-Coach of the Year for the 2012-13 season.

The Blue Jays are graduating four seniors: Joe Prophet, Todd Stolte, Skylar Tolson, and Mookie Valandra. Senior Skylar Tolson scored his 1,000th career point during the season. He also broke the career three-point record during senior night against Principia College and reset it at 237 three-pointers.
