Westminster Men Come Up Short On Road

Greenville, Ill. – The Westminster College men’s basketball squad saw its three-game winning streak snapped with a 66-61 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference loss Saturday at Greenville College.
The Blue Jays (11-10, 7-5 SLIAC) rallied from a 38-26 halftime deficit to lead by four points late in the game, but could not hold on down the stretch against Greenville (12-8, 7-5 SLIAC). Freshman Verdis Lee (Fulton, Mo./Fulton) led all scorers with 26 points, and junior Joe Prophet (Jefferson City, Mo./Jefferson City) finished with 14 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore Joe James (St. Louis, Mo./Vianney) added ten points for Westminster.
By The Numbers: Westminster is playing in its 97th season of men’s basketball and is now 992-1048…The Blue Jays lead the all-time series with Greenville 30-24, but dropped both games this season…Coach Matt Mitchell is 182-170 in his 14th season coaching at Westminster…
