Westminster Night at Busch Stadium

Over 800 strong of the Blue Jay Nation invaded the Redbird Nation Monday, May 21, to watch the St. Louis Cardinals come from behind to whip the San Diego Padres in a thrilling finish in the eighth inning at Busch Stadium.

Westminster faculty, staff, students and parents, alumni, prospective students and parents, and friends all gathered for a pre-game party at The Outfield of Mike Shannon’s Restaurant across the street from Busch before walking over for the evening game.

Many of those in attendance came to St. Louis on a special Westminster bus that had been arranged for the event.

Special Westminster t-shirts had been designed for the evening and were distributed before the game by members of this year’s Blue Jay Road Crew in exchange for donations to benefit their tour across America.

The Westminster community owes a huge debt of gratitude to Westminster Board of Trustee member and alumnus Brock Ayers who organized the entire event.

President and Mrs. Forsythe and Mr. and Mrs. Ayers joined a small delegation of Westminster faculty, staff, and students in meeting with representatives of the Cardinals’ management to present gifts as a token of Westminster’s appreciation for helping to make this an evening to remember for all in attendance.
