Women’s Soccer Ends In A Tie Against Dakota Wesleyan

The Westminster Women’s Soccer team ended in a 2-2 tie with Dakota Wesleyan Sunday afternoon. The Blue Jays now have a 0-1-1 record.
Sophomore Manyima Njie
(Bakoteh, Gambia /UWC) scored the lone goal in the first half with just six seconds remaining on the clock. Dakota Wesleyan scored their first goal of the game on themselves just eight minutes into the second half. Sophomore LaTayisah Ousley
(St. Louis, Mo. /Rosati-Kain) scored a goal, with the assist from sophomore Monica Bittner
(St. Peters, Mo. /Fort Zumwalt East), in the 68th minute to grab the 2-1 lead. Dakota Wesleyan was able to score again in the 79th minute, tying the game up and sending the game into overtime.
Both teams were scoreless in the first and second overtimes.
Ousley completed the game with five shots, three on goal. Njie finished the game with three shots on goal. Freshman Ellen Woosley
(Marshall, Mo. /Marshall) had 13 saves throughout the game.
The Blue Jays will have their home opener this Saturday, September 7th, as they host the University of the Ozarks at 2:00 p.m.
