The Office of Career Services provides Westminster College students with services, experiences, and opportunities that are tailored to meet their career development needs. Through the cultivation of abilities and skills, the determination of values and interests, and the acquisition of a knowledge base of career-related information, students develop a greater understanding of career paths that lead to personal fulfillment and most importantly, will prepare them for lives of success, significance and service.
Specifically, the Office of Career Services is committed to the following:
Heightening and developing students' awareness of the value of their own unique abilities and skills; and how these can be utilized or further developed for their own personal/professional advancement and growth
Clarification of students' career-related goals as they relate to occupational and/or post-graduate educational pathways
Informing students of diverse career opportunities of both national and global scope in the public and private sector
Maintaining a system of networking through which students are in contact with alumni and supporters of the college for the purpose of enhancing their career-related interests and developing employment/internship opportunities
Provide opportunities for students to develop skills in the area of job-searching techniques and strategies that will assist them in meeting their vocational goals
Extend student learning beyond the traditional classroom setting into professional work environments where students will be encouraged to expand their knowledge, learn from experts in the field, and apply and evaluate academic theory
Publicize and facilitate career-related opportunities for students off and on-campus that will enhance their professional and career development
