Hiring International Students
International students can often bring unique perspectives and multiple language skills to an organization; however, some employers are not completely informed of their options for these students. Hopefully, this Information about hiring international students document will be helpful.
For employers interested in the E-Visa, refer to this list of eligible countries of citizenship.
While many organizations have structured internship programs, others are not as familiar with how an intern can be of assistance. Contact Abigail Manwell, Assistant Director/Internship Coordinator, to discuss what it means to host an intern. She can be reached at 573-592-5382 or Abigail.email@example.com.
Areas in which interns could be of assistance:
- Research assistant
- Project coordinator
- Marketing/PR/Communication interns
- Technical interns
- Event management interns
- Statistics interns
- Resource management interns
- Teaching assistants
- Environmental assessment
- Much more!
Compensation for interns has been a big discussion among employers and career centers for the past few years. The U.S. Dept. of Labor has specific guidelines for for-profit organizations to help them decide whether or not to pay an intern.
More information about our Internship Program can be found in this Employer Guide.
