Beta Theta Pi’s storied history began in 1839 when “eight earnest young men” founded Beta Theta Pi at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. To build lasting bonds of friendship and brotherhood that the Founders envisioned, Beta calls for the five core values of; mutual assistance, intellectual growth, trust, responsible conduct, and integrity. Because of these values, Beta Theta Pi enhances each member’s college experience as well as strengthens our host institution, Westminster College. Beta Theta Pi also holds its members to a high standard with regards to academics. To reach these standards, there is strong brotherhood accountability in the chapter to make sure each member is reaching their full potential in the classroom.
Beta Theta Pi has no national philanthropy week. At the Alpha Delta Chapter, we organize “Beta Saves the World,” our philanthropy week that benefits CHADS Coalition, an organization dedicated to saving young lives by advancing the awareness and prevention of depression and suicide.
