Phi Delta Theta was founded in 1848 by five students at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. Of the founders, Father Robert Morrison, resided and is buried here in Fulton, Missouri. Phi Delta Theta is distinctly an international fraternity with chapters in Canada and the United States.  This fraternity points with pride to her alumni. Among these might be mentioned the names of former president Benjamin Harrison, former vice-president Adlai Stevenson, and astronaut Neil Armstrong.  Missouri Beta Chapter was established in the year 1880. Since that time over one thousand seven hundred and seventy-three students have passed through its mystic portals.  The chapter is located on Westminster Ave. (fraternity row) and consists of three floors. The second floor and the landing have just been refinished and the original wood has been revived.  The members of Missouri Beta do not confine themselves entirely to scholarship, but engage in sports and participate in society.  The chapter has come a long way since it's founding in 1880 and plans to go even farther in the future.
