Rice Hall 



Rice Hall was named after Westminster professor John Jay Rice, 1842-1920. Professor Rice was Vice President and Dean as well as Acting President of the College.

Why Westminster?
Excellent science program, small classes, great diversity, ability to establish relationships with your professors.

What is your favorite class and why?
Microbiology. It helped me develop a great interest in microbes and emerging infectious diseases. This class has inspired me to pursue a PhD on Molecular Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.

Who is your favorite professor and why?
Dr Amspoker. He is my adviser and a great friend. He has always been by my side, supporting me and helping me through my college career.

Favorite place on campus and why?
CSC because that is where I do my research and take all my science classes.

An interesting fact about you:
I love cars and motorcycles! Also, I enjoy kayaking and have been teaching it for a long time.

Advice to an incoming student:
Bring an open mind.

The staff and students of the Westminster community are welcoming and friendly and there is a great blend of history and future on campus.

What is your favorite class and why?
Biological Processes.  I loved learning how different aspects of life are powered by molecular reactions.

Who is your favorite professor and why?
Dr. Jane Kenney-Hunt.  She's extremely understanding and patient.

Favorite place on campus and why?
Glass Room in Coulter Science Center.  It's a great place to study quietly or with a louder group.

An interesting fact about you:
Both my first and middle names are shared with royalty.

Advice to an incoming student:
Be diligent in your studies, but take time to relax and make new friends.
